Cameroon 2025 Elections: Understanding, Preventing and Combating Electoral Fraud

Since the return of multiparty politics in 1990, no election in Cameroon has been free from disputes or political unrest. Rigged ballots, post-election violence, arbitrary arrests and a deep climate of mistrust: electoral fraud has become a true illness of the national political system. It feeds the crisis of confidence between citizens and institutions and threatens the possibility of democratic change through the ballot box.

As the presidential election of October 12, 2025 approaches, this issue stands out as a fundamental challenge for achieving change in peace, through democracy. How can Cameroonians ensure a credible election, accepted by all? What legal, technical, and civic tools can be mobilized to fight fraud and safeguard the vote?

To shed light on these critical questions, the Rhumsiki Institute for Strategic Studies (IRES) is hosting a major webinar on electoral fraud on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 4 to 6 pm (Paris time).

Three key areas of discussion

  • Understanding the most common mechanisms of electoral fraud: ballot stuffing, falsification of results, manipulation of voter lists, administrative pressure, and more.

  • Exploring legal and technical solutions: monitoring tools, legal remedies, and independent oversight mechanisms.

  • Discussing civic and institutional strategies: citizen mobilization, the role of political parties, and the involvement of national and international observers.

Three voices of experience to guide the debate

The discussion will feature three prominent speakers:

  • Barrister Michèle Ndoki, lawyer and political activist,

  • Dr. Christopher Fomunyoh, author and renowned political observer,

  • Mr. Abdouraman Hamadou Babba, sports executive and businessman, with a keen eye on political life.

Their diverse expertise will provide concrete insights on how every Cameroonian can play a role in building a credible electoral process.

Why should you attend this webinar?

Because the democratic future of Cameroon depends on the ballot box. Because peace and change can only come through a transparent and fair process. And because every citizen must be informed, vigilant, and ready to act.
